Signed an MOU with KFWW
On Monday, April 29th, the National Center for the rights of the Child(NCRC) and the Gyeonggi Women and Family Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the enhancement of child rights and the expansion of childcare services at the International Conference Room of the National Center for the rights of the Child.Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to collaborate on various fronts, including the development of strategies for the advancement of child rights and childcare, enhancement of the professionalism of childcare workers, development and utilization of child rights education content, and promotion of child rights content.We kindly ask for your continued interest in the collaborative activities of the two organizations
2024 Foster Care Center Staff Workshop
The National Center for the Rights of the Child(NCRC) held the '2024 Foster Care Center Staff Workshop' at Hanwha Resort Haeundae in Haeundae-gu, Busan from April 17th (Wednesday) to April 19th (Friday).
At this workshop, a total of 215 staff members from 18 foster care support centers nationwide, along with officials from the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the NCRC, attended to enhance the professionalism of the staff and to promote communication and healing.
Key programs included lectures on '2024 Child Welfare Policies and Systems Overview', 'Support for Public Guardianship of Protected Children and Support for Young Adults Preparing for Independence', 'Social Workers Responding to the Future', 'Conflict Management Communication Strategies', and 'Human Transformation and Hope: Beautiful Growth Amidst Pain' by various speakers.
The NCRC will continue to make efforts to activate the foster care protection system.

NCRC, received the '2024 National Representative Brand Awards' for the second consecutive year.
At the '2024 National Representative Brand Awards' ceremony, held at the Ambassador Seoul Pullman Hotel on the 25th (Thursday), the National Center for the Rights of the Child received the award for Child Support (CDA: Child Development Account) for the second consecutive year.The Child Development Account, aimed at fostering the asset formation of children as future growth drivers and contributing to the stable independence of young adults preparing for self-reliance, was recognized for its significant contributions, earning the prestigious accolade at the '2024 National Representative Brand Awards.'With the expansion of the Child Development Account's eligibility criteria starting this year, targeting a broader demographic, we earnestly request continuous interest and active sponsorship from corporations and the public to further support the self-reliance of children under protection.In pursuit of a society where all children can thrive, the National Child Rights Protection Agency will continue to advocate for children's rights, leading the way in shaping a happy future for children and society alike.
NCRC participated in the '2024 Korea Children's Fair'
Following last year, the NCRC participated in the '2024 Korea Children's Fair', held at COEX on April 12th and 13th.At the 'National Center for the Rights of the Child' booth, approximately 10,000 visitors of various ages, including children and parents, came to learn about the organization and its activities, enjoying events such as introduction roulette and SNS follow events.This year, a booth for the Child Committee was also set up, where child members of the National Center for the Rights of the Child operated the booth themselves, conducting a campaign to spread awareness of child rights.In addition, various programs such as fishing games, beads accessories making, face painting, and mood lamp making were prepared to provide children with an enjoyable experience.We ask for your continued interest and participation in the various events hosted by the National Child Rights Protection Agency in the future.Thank you.
Signed an MOU with the Korea Disabled people's Development Institute
On Tuesday, April 9th, NCRC signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Disabled people's Development Institute at the International Seminar Room of the Korea Disabled People's Development Institute, aiming to promote the advancement of children's rights encompassing disabilities. Through this agreement, the two organizations will collaborate on research, surveys, and policy development to promote children's rights encompassing disabilities. They will also work on implementing the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, including activities related to disabilities, and improving awareness. This collaboration will span various fields, from research and surveys to sharing expertise. This memorandum of understanding aims to support children with disabilities, a group characterized by the overlapping features of children and disabilities. To achieve this goal, NCRC and the Korea Disabled People's Development Institute will utilize their expertise in the fields of children and disabilities to establish a robust social safety net for children with disabilities. They will work towards enhancing the rights of all children, including children with disabilities.We ask for your continued interest in the collaborative efforts of both organizations in the future. :)

Multilateral MOU for Supporting Young Adults with Borderline Intellectual Functioning
On Wednesday, March 27th, the National Center for the Right of the Child(NCRC) signed a multilateral MOU for supporting young adults with borderline intellectual functioning at the Hyundai Dream Society in Jung-gu, Seoul.The following 8 organizations participated in this MOU along with NCRC: Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Korea Central Public Agency for Social Service, Korea Polytechnics, Korea Labor Institute, Korea Forest Welfare Institute, Korea Development Institute for Self-Sufficiency and Welfare, and Korea’s Disabled People’s Development Institute.As part of this MOU, each organization will identify and support unemployed youth with borderline intellectual functioning who aspire to explore career paths. Additionally, programs will be implemented to support skill enhancement training and work experience for these individuals.In particular, there are plans to execute a pilot project research on establishing a 'employment incubating support model' based on social integration education, vocational training, and work experience for youth with borderline intellectual functioning.We kindly request your continued interest in the collaborative efforts between the NCRC and relevant organizations.Thank you.
NCRC-Center for Hope International exchange of child abuse response experts
The National Center for the Rights of the Child (NCRC) held a meeting on March 26, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:30 at the NCRC headquarters, exchanging views on child abuse response systems between experts from the Center for Hope and counterparts from Korea and the United States.In this meeting, NCRC's officials responsible for child abuse prevention programs, along with Kerry Hannan, Director of the Center for Hope, and representatives from the Asia Foundation, attended and discussed introducing the child abuse response and prevention systems of Korea and the United States, as well as sharing ideas on future tasks.NCRC will strive to promote consistent communication and cooperation to ensure that children can grow up healthier and safer.Thank you.
Signed an MOU with National Center for Mental Health
On Wednesday, March 6th, the National Center for the Rights of the Child and the National Center for Mental Health held a signing ceremony for an MOU on promoting healthy child development at the conference room of the National Center for Mental Health.The two institutions will collaborate through this agreement to improve awareness of children's rights and mental health, as well as to support children and adolescents in crisis situations and in research on policies related to children.In particular, the two institutions plan to coordinate relevant resources to ensure that young individuals preparing for independence, as well as children in need of protection and care, including those requiring medical treatment support, receive appropriate assistance.We ask for your continued interest in the collaborative activities of the two organizations in the future!
International Meeting Between NCRC & Japanese Universities
